I guess I need to post a life update here. :-) It's been less than two weeks since Dutton was born, and we can't remember life without him. It's amazing how fast things change.
It's been a LONG time since I had a newborn at home. I can barely remember Colin at this age. Dutton is a snoozy boy. He loves to cuddle, eat, and sleep. Each day we are seeing more and more alert time, and that will continue to get better as he gets older.
Jim is so great with him. He has changed more than his share of poopy diapers so far without complaint. Yesterday he got peed on, pooped on, and spit up on, so I told him he earned his "dad" badge.
Colin is doing well with the adjustments. It hasn't been easy since he has been an only child for so long, but he loves his brother to pieces. Colin is so sensitive that it makes him really anxious when Dutton cries. We keep trying to explain to him that babies will cry, and that it really is ok, but he isn't buying it. (I'm just grateful that he isn't a fussy baby!)
I'm feeling great, and anxious to get back into a routine since the last 6 weeks have been spent mostly on the couch.
