Emerson Unplugged!
I can't remember how much I posted back when Emerson first came home from the hospital. After his first apnea episode in the doctor's office, the next time he came home from the hospital he was on a home monitor for apnea and bradycardia. (no breathing, slow heart rate) The monitor was critical in alerting us a few weeks later to his need for re-hospitalization. Fast forward a few months - Emerson is much bigger and stronger and hasn't had any serious alarms in about 6 weeks. In the meantime, he has learned to roll over (tangling himself in the cords), and has also learned how to pull the monitor leads off his chest to make it beep and make mom come running when he isn't getting attention fast enough. :-) It's time to be off the monitor, and the doctors agree. Before I unplugged him for good, I had to take a few photos of the machine that has been by his side for the past 4 months.
Oh yeah - the monitor cord makes a great teether! :-)
