Emerson has had a really good week since his surgery on Monday. Every day he continues to get better and we really didn't have any of the trouble that we could have had afterwards. They have lowered his vent settings and switched it into a mode where instead of doing all the breathing for him, it assists him on his inhale.
The big news for today was they finally allowed him to start feeds. He is getting 2 cc's every three hours. I'm thrilled that he is stable enough post surgery to eat but my overwhelming feeling is that isn't the way things are supposed to go. Hopefully I will be able to hold him soon.

We are so excited that Emerson has been doing so well. He will be home and perfect in no time at all!!
