I just had to post this photo today. When we got home from the hospital we had just missed a huge hail storm. There was enough ice on the driveway that Jim thought he would shovel it for the camera. I'm sure that is the only time he has shoveled in shorts and sandals!
Things with Emerson are up and down. He went back on the oscillating ventilator yesterday. They decided to abort the last round of medication for the PDA because they were getting some brown fluid out of his stomach and they didn't want to irritate it any further. He is scheduled for a echocardiogram in the morning and will be having surgery sometime after that to repair the PDA.
We are on pins and needles about the surgery, but we have been told they do about 3 of them a month and the surgeon is excellent. They actually do it right at his bedside and the actual procedure only takes about 20 minutes. (It takes longer to prep him than to do the surgery!)
