Day Six - Front Porch, Dormer, and Shingles!

I got the large dormer attached today and got the front porch put together and painted.  I wasn't feeling up to working on the gingerbread, so I decided to get started on the shingles.  They are going smoother than expected, although the next time I think I will try the template method instead of trying to cut each shingle as I go.

I thought you might get a kick out of my creative clamping while waiting for glue to dry!  

Got the back of the house shingled.

Started the shingles on the front of the house.  The dormers make it a bit complicated.  I am glad I drew all my lines when the house was flat.  

This room will end up being the bathroom.  I love the tile floor!  Now I just need to find the right fixtures, or good directions to make my own.

My other purchase for today was a woven bamboo table runner that I am taking apart to make into a hardwood floor for the ground level.
